Description

An Annunciation  twofold. Here Archangel Gabriel is delivering the Good news to Maria. The painting is inspired by the altar front of Avià. The original piece is  found in the Museu National d’art de Catalunya in Barcelona. Here the figures are very expressive and so are the colors. The painting immediately captures the eye of the viewer.

• I used the eggtempera technique.
• Shellac and varnish were also added to “seal” the colors and create an artifact that will last.
• The Annunciation  twofold icon has a hinge in the middle for opening and closing .
• The color used on the sides and back is also made with a red dye, so as to be harmonical with the painting.

I prepare the icons as gifts with their own packaging with some mini extras from the shop.
