Description

The Byzantine icon with the Hand of God icon carrying the souls of the righteous. An icon speaking about Last Judgement and a  visual representation of the Wisdom of Solomon. It is the Book of Wisdom and namely the verse 3:1 (KJV Version) that says:

“….[1] But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them. [2] In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery, [3] And their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace….”

The materials for the paintig were the following:

• A repurposed panel with a frame measuring 23x24cm
• Egg tempera according the traditional technique of byzantine iconography.
• Additionally the icon comes packaged with some mini extras from our shop, ready to be given as a gift</p>
