This is Panaghia the Guide. The  Icon of Holy Odegetria. The name of the icon derives from the  hand gesture of the All- Holy mother pointing, “guiding” us towards the Son of God. The Christ Child is affectionately looking to His mother, blessing.

• The background of the icon is covered with copper gold and treated with a special organic dye in order to acquire an antique patina.
