Description

The thing I like in this contemporary Icon of St Sebastian byzantine,  is the serenity by which he went through his suffering. I worked on a canvas with egg tempera creating an artificial cracking effect.

I also “scratched” the blue background. I wanted the sky to look  ominous, somehow electrified. The materials in short were:

• A prepared wooden board and eggtrempera
• Resin varnish has covered the colors to protect the icon.
• Finally a  hanger was added on the back.

The painting is complemented some extras from our shop and its own gift wrapping.
