Dream of Jacob on wood. He is dreaming as in Genesis 28: 10-19- The Jacob’s Ladder has been a theme with many interpretations in sacred art through the centuries. Here I am experimenting with this in a series of two-pieces icons that are exploring the “division” between material and immaterial realms.

The piece is painted with egg tempera while the background is gilded with copper gold. Each part has a metallic hanger on the back and the can be hanged at the same level or at a totally different one. After painting, the icon is varnished to seal the colors and produce an artwork that will last.

The icon comes carefully protected and wrapped as a gift with some little extras from our shop.
