Description
An Icon of Jeanne d’ Arc on driftwood. The univen piece is inspired by the patron Saint of France. A woman who stood up for what she believed, fought for it and burned at the stake.
The painting is executed in eggtempera the materials used for the creation of the piece are:
- A driftwood board found on the shores of my island Crete
- Gesso on the part that covers the figure of the Saint
- Copper gold for the halo
- Egg tempera that is an emulsion made by egg yolk and vinegar
- Shellac and resin varnish to seal the colors
- A metal hanger
Finally this byzantine icon of Joan of Arc is packaged as a gift with some little extras of our shop.
