Description

A miniature of the Holy Mother and Child. The Portable Panagia Eleousa, the Merciful one, one of the traditional representations of Theotokos. The Inscription Μeter Theou (Mother of God) and the  Christogramm ICXC are added onm the sides.

• The mini icon is painted with eggtempera.
• The icon board  is a scrap from wooden floor material.
• It has a partial layer of gessoed canvas glued on
• The background is  copper gold (and a layer of organic dye that makes it look like an old folk piece).
• Finally, the colors are sealed with shellac and  varnish, to create a spiritual artifact that will last.
