Description

This is St Brendan of Clonfert  or the Navigator, a saint of the united church. He is  honored on both eastern and western tradition. Moreover he is  one of the most venerated Saints of Ireland. He is pictured here wearing a travelling mantle and holding a ship whilewith the right hand he is making the blessing gesture.

The material sued for the icon are:

• A gessoed wooden panel.
• The medium  we used was egg tempera applied
• The painting is sealed with shellac
• A brown colored dye is givingthe painting a type of a copperish antique patina
• The icon of St Brendan of Clonfert is finally varnished on top to last.
• The background of the icon is covered with copper gold and treated with a special organic dye in order to acquire an antique patina.

The irish Saint will be gift-wrapped along with some little extras from our shop.
