Description
St Euphrosynos the cook is found, in the middle on the night, in Heaven, holding a branch of heavenly apples. On the bottom right his name and profession- the cook (Aghios/ Saint Efrosynos – o Magiros) written in Greek. He is dressed in simple clothes somehow rough and peasant-like as his story dictates. A most moving story of one night in Paradise.
- The size of the painting is 20x28cm approx
- The medium is eggtempera
- Top coats are varnish and shellac
The orthodox patron of chefs is packaged and send as a gift with its own wrapping and some mini extras from our shop.
I cannot say the story better than Eva C. Topping (Sacred stories from Byzantium- by Holy Cross Orthodox Press).
