Description

A Religious Icon of St Melania the Roman. The name Melanie is celebrated a lot in eastern Europe and especially in Ukraine as Malanka. An alternate name for  the female saint is also the St Melanie the Younger.

The Saint is painted with dark colors as a nun.-The materials I used fore the piece were the following

• A  wooden board with a metal hanger on the back
• Egg tempera amd  copper gold with an antique patina on.
• Shellac and resin varnish to seal the colors

Additionally  the  icon comes carefully protected and wrapped as a gift with some little extras from our shop and is painted with egg tempera copper gold and resin varnish on top
