Description

The first man  ever to be a killed  for Christ. St Stephen the Martyr. This is a half figure painting of the saint holding a censer and a miniature church building.

The materials I used for the byzantine icon

• I made the painting with eggtempera on scraps of a wooden floor.
• The repurposed wood was specially cut, and prepared (with a hanger on the back)
• Eggtempera and copper gold were used for the surface
• While shellac and varnish have sealed the colors to produce an artifact that will last

The icon comes wrapped as a gift in its own hand made bag with some extras from our shop
