Description

The Last Supper of Christ . Christ with the 12 disciples sin His final days.  The Lord is seated on the one side next to His favorite disciple John. On the other side is Peter. Right on the center the only one, not looking on the Lord, reaching his hand to grab as much as he can, is Judas the Iscariot.

On each side the words “Mystikos Deipnos ” The Last Supper, are written as well as Jesus Christ (IC XC- Iesous Christos) in Greek.

The materials used here are:

• Eggtempera and copper gold for the background.
• A hand-carved thick wooden panel with a hanger
• Shellac and resin varnish to seal the colors

The icon is painted according to the rules of the old byzantine art of hagiography or else holy iconography. It comes wrapped as gift with some little extras from our shop
