A custom order for an Icon corner gift of Righteous Saints Naomi and Susanna
The Righteous Susanna will be young with ornated hair and with long (young virgin’s)clothes maybe white and (perhaps a combination of pastel tones) while I would like Naomi with darker tones like dark purple
The materials for the byzantine icon are the following:
Materials
- A specially prepared plywood panel 25×35 cm approx and 10mm thick
- Egg tempera.
- Copper gold for the background (that will eventually acquire an antique copperish look)
- Varnish and shellac
- A hanger on the back
- Gift packaging
Method and timing
The saints, will be based on the previous email communication with the commisioner of the work. The painting will be executed with the traditional Eggtempera technique, and then sealed with varnish to create a piece that will last for generations.
Inscriptions will be in English and the text on St Naomis scroll will be
“The Lord deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with me. The Lord grant that you may find rest.”
The time needed for the completion of the order is one month. Pictures will be send at the beginning and the end of the painting process.
Shipping
With first priority registered mail and may also last a couple of weeks depending your location. The icon comes carefully packaged as gift together with some mini extras from our shop
